With Just Wallpaper you can convert your desktop into much more than a simple photo. It is a tool which, in the first place, lets you periodically change the image you have as a wallpaper, in addition to ordering all your images into categories, plus it has additional utilities.

For example, a calendar superimposed over the wallpaper, which you can completely personalize (colours, fonts, position, etc), a program to make notes and reminders (like the classic Post-its), a clock with the actual time and date, etc.

As for administering wallpapers, you can indicate to Just Wallpaper how often you want it changing, or even specify a key to change the wallpaper when you press it.
